æffect: Logo and Brand Design

The brand æffect was created to bring awareness of how arts and crafts can be beneficial to combat feelings of stress and helplessness. I hope to encourage and inspire people who want to bring craft and creativity into their daily lives as a way to unwind. æffect’s main motto is “mindless making for mindful thinking”. Just sitting down to doodle already can make you feel a bit better. Our goal is to show people that anyone can be creative and make stuff, the end goal is not what you make, but that you make! And at æffect, you mindlessly make things, hoping to think mindfully. We believe that not enough students incorporate craft and play into their lives, which can aid them in relaxing and stress relief. Making something with your hands, or just engaging in any creative activity, can improve mental well-being, and make you feel like you can control something. æffect is about using crafting as an outlet, encouraging everyone to make something and feel good about it.
